Talisker: The Rogue Seafury - 2021 Special Release - Cask Strenght - Barrel Strength Under the smoky, misty surface of the island's dark waters, the Leviathan of the Hole lay in wait. He watched over his old home and gave the whiskey its powerful and distinctive, salty character.
Flavour: a soft oily texture with great taste slowly takes control. At first almost perfumed yet consistently salty with a touch of sweetness, wonderfully peaty and smoky through the specially selected barrels - this wild sea monster ends in a full, peppery treat. Water rounds off the taste and fills the tongue with a peppery tingle within the even profile.
Finish: long-lasting, warming and resistant, the finish is characterised by smoke and a sound of smoky malt in the finish. A splash of water accompanies the sea monster into its realms.
Colour: ash blonde golden with greenish light reflections.
Aroma: The mild nose lets the grim being first guessed only. The main aromas are sweet and maritime with a hint of cereals such as porridge oats, which quickly develop into clear, maritime notes reminiscent of salty seagrass, crystal salt and iodine on a base of mountainous smoke. A drop of water provides mitigation while enhancing the maritime character.
