The highlight of this CDI is the small adjustment screw in the blue box. With the help of this screw you can adjust the ignition time of the engine in the direction early (clockwise) or in the direction late (counterclockwise). This CDI is only suitable for the models listed in the vehicle list with 4-stroke engine. Vehicle list see above in the gallery product images. Please note: 2 different CDI types with different plugs have been installed on some vehicles. If this connector does not fit here (type 1), you will find a CDI with plug (type 2) as a possible alternative below the item description. CDI (Type 3) can also be found below the item description. This is for Kymco models with 2-stroke engine.
Open tuning CDI from Area1. With this CDI, the speed limit (throttle) is lifted and the motor can spin up freely and reach its maximum speed, which allows a better suit and gain in the final speed of 5-15 km/h (depending on the model).
Only suitable for scooters with DC ignition system. There is an AC and DC version for the vehicles! This is the DC version. Whether an AC or DC CDI is installed can be determined as follows. - Disconnect the battery - turn on the ignition - start with kickstarter. If the scooter does not start, a DC CDI is installed. When the scooter starts, an AC CDI is installed.
For models with inductive speed detection (e.g. Yager 50 GT), it may happen that interference on the tachometer may occur. This then no longer shows the correct speed value. Concerns regarding the ignition system and the engine do not exist. This problem can be largely limited by the use of suppressed spark plugs and spark plug plugs. But cannot be ruled out at the moment!
An unthrottled CDI should therefore be your first choice if you want to make your scooter faster, as all other tuning parts such as sports exhaust, cylinder, carburettor, etc. can only develop their full power once the speed limit has been lifted.
