This distillate rests for 12 years in American white oak barrels previously topped with SLYRS whiskey. So this Slyrs can fully unfold its extraordinary complexity. After maturation in the Upper Bavarian mountain climate, it is treated with fresh mountain spring water from barrel strength to drinking strength (43% vol.) and neither dyed nor cold filtered to maintain the unique SLYRS character.
Long-term storage in SLYRS barrels for exceptional complexity:
Limited Edition
Best Bavarian raw materials – gentle production. For the SLYRS Bavarian single malt whisky, we use a special brewing barley from the north of Bavaria, which is gently processed into malt. The second raw material: fresh spring water from the nearby Bannwaldsprelle.
After crushing and mashing the malt and a temperature-controlled, one-week fermentation, the fermented wort is distilled twice in small copper stills. Thanks to the slow firing process and the generous separation of the flow and post-flow, we get a highly aromatic and soft distillate.
