Skin and hair form approx. 14% of body weight. With the intensive metabolism of this organ, it can easily lead to deficiency symptoms after nutrient imbalances either as a result of unilateral nutrition or at times of increased activities such as growth, lactation, gravidity and hair change.
Feeding instructions: daily 2.5 g (approx. 1/2 measuring spoons) / 10 kg weight. Administer over food, milk or drinking water for 3-5 weeks (2.5 g Biosel HK corresponds to 5 mg biotin). This supplementary feed may only be administered to dogs and cats according to the feeding instructions due to the higher content of additives compared to complete feed.
Biotin, like zinc, is part of the prosthetic group of numerous enzymes of carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism with special affinity for hair forming cells. In principle, supplementation is necessary in case of disturbances in enteral biotin synthesis or when feeding cereals, whose biotin content can only be partially used by the animal.
