The aronia berry is self-fertile, planted together with other varieties, the fruit yield is improved. The aronia bush Hugin has a total size of about 30 to 40 cm with 3 litre pot bales. The plant is shipped directly from our fruit tree school. Each order comes with planting and care instructions (English language not guaranteed).
The Hugin variety is characterised by a smaller and more compact growth than comparable varieties such as Aron, Viking or Nero. It is only about 1 metre high and is therefore ideal for lower plantings in the natural hedge, in the sweet garden or also ideal for pot planting. Hugin is a breed from Scandinavia and very frost-hardy. In the shoot with reddish leaves, in autumn with yellow to purple foliage. A valuable bee pasture in May with white mybells.
The 5-10 mm large, healthy fruits of chokeberry ripen in summer and are ready for harvest and enjoyment from September. The shrub is undemanding and resistant to diseases and pests. A decorative wild tree, with bushy, compact growth. As fruit shrubs for fresh consumption, the recycling into juice or as dried fruits in cereal.
